The latest statistics show a huge increase in application rejections under the EU Settlement Scheme.
Due to recent changes in the way EUSS applications are processed, in the month of September alone almost 14,000 applications were rejected. To give you an idea of what this means, the average number of rejections in the previous three months (June, July and August) had been 1700 per month.
Remember that for most people, the deadline to register under the EU Settlement Scheme was 30th June, 2021. However for those that don’t fit into that category, the rules changed recently and those making applications must prove that “compelling reasons” exist to justify the delay in submitting their application. If the above is not proven, the application will not even be considered and will be rejected without the right to appeal. Furthermore, the person will not be given a residence/work permit while the application is pending.
It is very important that if you are considering making an application under the EU Settlement Scheme that you consult a solicitor regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority before doing so. DO NOT be misled by agents without proper legal qualification. At MPB Solicitors we can help you with your matter.
